One of the concerns that manufacturers of various products, including food, pharmaceutical, health, etc., always face is the issue of product packaging. Packaging is of particular importance in various industries due to its important role in maintaining product hygiene and creating visual appeal. Cellophane has always received special attention in the packaging industry due to its attractive appearance, reasonable price, and high quality. Industrial packaging cellophane has some differences from household food cellophane. Packaging cellophanes are plastic films of the type BOPP or OPP and CPP, which are known as teresbaphone or teres cellophane for short.
Application of cellophane
The main use of Tresbafon cellophane is in packaging products, especially food and health products. Because this type of cellophane has a very high printability, it can be used to produce a beautiful and impressive wrapper for the product, which ultimately attracts customer attention and increases sales. Other items that are packaged with these wrappers include the Spare parts packaging، Fertilizer packaging، Clothing packaging، Computer parts packaging etc.
Types of cellophane
Cellophane is available in three types: transparent, metalized, and pearlized, each of which is explained below. Transparent cellophane: The transparency of the packaging reflects the quality of the contents inside and is a factor in gaining customer trust. This type of cellophane is often used to package items such as pastries, pasta, spices, beans, etc. that do not change or deteriorate when exposed to the sun.
Metallized cellophane: In the production of this type of cellophane, aluminum metal powder is used. Its aluminum and shiny color is also due to the presence of this substance in it. Metallized cellophane is used in the packaging of products whose shape and condition are affected by sunlight and lead to their spoilage. Chips and puffs are packaged in metallized type.
Shell cellophane (Prolyse): Shell cellophane is produced on a milky basis and is often used in the packaging of products that require refrigeration, such as ice cream and semi-prepared frozen foods.
OPP and CPP cellophanes
The cellophane family has two members, OPP and CPP. OPP and CPP films are the same in terms of raw material, and both are made and produced based on propylene (PP). The only difference between the two films is their softness, with CPP cellophane being slightly softer and more delicate. In food packaging, a layer of printed OPP film is usually laminated onto a layer of CPP to both make the packaging stronger and to prevent the food from coming into direct contact with the printed material.
