OPP cellophane is a member of the Cellophane Fear family and a series of packaging plastics. The unique characteristics of this type of cellophane make it an ideal type of packaging for various industries. Perhaps the most well-known use of OPP is in the food industry, but this popular plastic is also used in other applications, including packaging cosmetics, hygiene products, detergents, pharmaceuticals, stationery, tobacco, and more.
Types of OPP cellophane
Normally, OPP cellophane films are produced in a colorless and transparent form, but by adding elements, they can also be produced in a metallized or pearlescent form. In the images below, you can see different types of OPP packaging.
1. Transparent: Transparent OPP is actually the same type of regular OPP that does not contain any additives. Using this type of cellophane, it is possible to see the contents inside the package. The higher the quality and superior the raw materials used in the production of transparent OPP, the more transparent and shiny the cellophane produced will be. The transparent type of OPP cellophane is used for Chips packaging, pastilles, dried fruits, biscuits, cakes, cereal cookies, cigarettes, CDs, etc.
2. Metallized: Metallized cellophane can be produced by adding aluminum metal powder to OPP films. The silver and shiny color of metallized cellophane is also due to the presence of this element in them. If you have looked inside the bag of chips, puffs, tea, chocolate, candy, etc., you have probably seen that the inside is aluminum-colored. Metallized OPPs are a good insulator for protecting products from direct sunlight. Although metallized cellophane is generally known for its silver color, their production in other colors is also carried out in the Wazin Plast complex.
3. Shell: OPP shell rolls are produced in a milky or shell color and are usually used to package frozen products that require storage in a cold environment. Packaging ice cream is an example of the use of shell cellophane.
Features of OPP films
Other features of OPP cellophane include preventing air and oxygen from penetrating into the product, which helps maintain freshness and increase its shelf life. These plastics also have the ability to create perforations and holes, which helps shape the product packaging and allows it to be hung from store stands.
