Plastic is made of polymer, and polymer is created from the joining of monomers. In low-quality plastics that are prepared with recycled and impure materials, there is a possibility of separating some monomers and entering them into food. But food grade polymers are not subject to corrosion and oxidation and do not harm it even in case of direct contact with food. Food grade materials are able to maintain this feature even at high temperatures.
