Today, with the advancement of technology in various industries, packaging methods have also improved. In recent years, a new type of nylon called thermal vacuum has entered the packaging field, which can be used in almost all packaging.
What is thermal vacuum nylon?
Vacuum nylon is a product that is used for packaging using the vacuum process. The vacuum process means evacuating the air inside the product packaging and creating an approximate vacuum. Usually, evacuating the air and creating a vacuum is done using air suction by high-powered pumps. However, thermal vacuum uses heat and heat instead of air suction to remove the air inside the packaging.
The method of using thermal vacuum film is as follows: first, a certain size of it must be cut and placed around the object to be packaged. Then, it must be heated using a suitable heat source such as an industrial hair dryer. This plastic coating does not melt under the influence of heat and only acquires the property of shrinking. With this method, the vacuuming operation is performed by maximally evacuating the air between the product and the plastic due to heat, and the nylon forms a strong and cap-like covering around the product, or so to speak, vacuums it.

The food industry can be considered one of the most widely used and most consumed areas of application of thermal vacuum nylon. All kinds of perishable and perishable foods such as chicken, fish, shrimp, meat, sausage, olives, dates, cheese, pickles, etc. can be packaged with the help of thermal vacuum.
One of the main reasons that lead to spoilage of food is their contact with air and the growth of various bacteria and fungi in them. However, foods that are vacuum packaged have a longer shelf life. The reason for this is that this method, by completely evacuating the air from inside the package, removes the oxygen needed by aerobic microbes, which increases the shelf life of the food several times. The advantage of this method is that it maintains the quality of food products without the heat and chemical treatment used by preservation techniques such as canning, freezing, drying and other processes.

PVC film: Once the most common heat-sealing material in the world due to its light weight and low cost. Today, PVC has been banned in many countries due to the strong and noxious odors it emits when heated, and has been replaced by polyolefin (POF) and polyethylene (PE).
Polyolefin (POF) film: POF films have replaced nylon PVC in many cases and are a safe material for food packaging approved by the FDA.
Polyethylene (PE) film: These films are available in three types: high-density polyethylene, low-density polyethylene, and linear low-density polyethylene, with low-density polyethylene being the most common form. These coatings are often used for heavier items such as beverage multi-packs due to their greater strength and durability.
Thermal vacuum packaging methods
There are usually two methods for working with thermal vacuum plastic: manual and machine. In these methods, by exposing the vacuum nylon to heat, the plastic shrinks and the product is easily packaged. The manual method uses the heat of an industrial hair dryer directly to perform the packaging operation. However, the manual method is not suitable for factory production lines, so it is done with special packaging machines. In this method, the products enter the tunnel machine and are packaged after being heated by the machine.
